Tenure-Track Professorship for Soft Machines (U. Freiburg)

Dear colleagues,

the University of Freiburg (Germany) is currently looking for a new
faculty member in the field of Soft Machines. This is a tenure track
position in the Department of Microsystems Engineering. We are looking
for someone to represent research and teaching in the field of machines
made of soft, deformable materials such as gels, elastomers / liquid
crystalline elastomers (LCEs) and responsive materials.

A PhD position at University and Unity of mechanic (EA 7512) of Lille

Here I help Professor Pruchnicki post a phd thesis proposal. It will begin on September 2022 for three years (shared between Politechnico of Turino and University of Lille). The net salary will be approximately 1500 euros per month. He wants a very good student so he wants to be sure of the candidate's level. The focus of the project is to investigate deformation and damage initiation mechanisms of additively manufactured lattice structures using a combination of computational mechanics (peridynamics), experimental mechanics, and microscopic analysis.

PhD Position at McGill University in Architected Mechanical Metamaterials

One PhD position is available for Fall 2022 in Advanced Multifunctional and Multiphysics Metamaterials Lab (AM3L) in the Department of Bioresource Engineering of McGill University. The research topic is on the area of Architected Mechanical Metamaterials. Theoretical and computational multiscale modelling along with 3D printing and experimental characterization will be conducted for nonlinear and multiphysics analysis of rationally-designed architected materials. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Hamid Akbarzadeh at McGill University.
