Dear Everyone,

I am so glad coming imechanica to meet everyone of you! I am an editor from Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, our society mainly publish five mechanical journals(three Chinese and two English). I would like to share recently published English articles for whom might be interested in.

Concrete Damaged PLasticity - Effect of Kc

I'm trying to develop yield surface of a material for a particular value of hydrostatic stress(since CDP model uses drucker-prager hypothesis).. In user manual, it is given that, for Kc value of 1, i should get a circle, and for Kc value of 0.667, i should get a shape of inverted triangle in deviatoric plane.. But I have tested for 3 values of Kc, 0.667, 0.9 and 1, for all, i'm getting the same inverted triangle in the deviatoric plane.

using abaqus pore pressure cohesive element to model hydraulic fracture

Submitted by liulu on

hello:

I am using pore pressure cohesive elemnt to model hydraulic fracture with abaqus 6.13.  Iwant to export the fracutre opening (or fracture aperture) of the injection point. The PFOPEN(pore pressure opening) or U(Displacement), which is the best to choose.

Waiting for your answer, thank you very much!!!!

Modeling programmable deformation of self-folding all-polymer structures with temperature-sensitive hydrogels

Submitted by Jinxiong Zhou on

Combining
soft active hydrogels with hard passive polymers gives rise to all-polymer
composites. The hydrogel is sensitive to external stimuli while the passive
polymer is inert. Utilizing the different behaviors of two materials subject to
environmental variation, for example temperature, results in self-folding soft
machines. We report our efforts to model the programmable deformation of
self-folding structures with temperature-sensitive hydrogels. The self-folding
structures are realized either by constructing a bilayer structure or by
incorporating hydrogels as hinges. The methodology and the results may aid the

Nonlinear free and forced vibration analysis of a single-walled carbon nanotube using shell model

In this Paper, the nonlinear free and force vibration of a single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) with simply supported ends is

investigated based on von Karman’s geometric nonlinearity. The SWCNT described as an individual shell and the Donnell’s

equations of cylindrical shells are used to obtain the governing equations. The Galerkin's procedure is used to discretized partial
