The European Mechanics of Materials Conferences (EMMC) is a series of bi-yearly meetings organized under the auspices of the European Mechanics Society (Euromech), which has taken place over the last 25 years in cities such as Paris, Warsaw, Gothenburg, Brussels, Nantes, Oxford, and Madrid.

The University of Pavia, together with Politecnico di Milano, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and University of Bologna, organizes the International Summer School “Mechanics of active soft materials: experiments, theory, numerics, and applications” within the Lake Como School of Advanced Studies.
Organizers: Prof. Giulia Scalet, Prof. Silvia Faré, Prof. Konstantin Volokh, and Prof. Fabiana Zama.
Successful applicants will work on the mechanics and thermodynamics of porous solids undergoing reactive flow within the scope of the DOE-funded center on Geo-processes in Mineral Carbon Storage (GMCS, https://gmcs.umn.edu). The mission of GMCS is to develop the fundamental science and engineering capability that will lead to realizing the full potential for large-scale subsurface storage of CO2 via mineralization.
