Abaqus - Job aborts reporting that it can't change the current working directory.

Submitted by Aniruthan on

Hello,

I have an Abaqus 6.12-3 installed on a Windows 8 64-bit system.
Everything works smoothly. I am easily able to take control of the CAE
and model, define loads, steps, sections and jobs. The problem is while
running the jobs. The job aborts splashing an error "Unable to change
the current working directory to
C:\Users\ANIABU~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Ani Abu_I-beam_3876." This happens
with all the jobs. Rarely does the job complete successfully, but I am
unable to understand the underlying procedure. I did not request any

Strength of Short Concrete Columns Confined with CFRP Sheets

Hi everyone,

i'm  working with ABAQUS and a new user. i have modelled CFRP confined concrete columns of different shapes. The results found are satisfactory but as i modelled CFRP as linear elastic material so the load displacement curve goes up and up. how can i provide an end to it?

Cohesive (zero thickness): NODE NUMBERING MIDE NOT BE CORRECT (Abaqus)

Hi all,

 I'm trying to model a 2D cohesive layer with a zero-thickness in Abaqus (6.11.2)

The shape of the layer is a quarter circle.

When modelling this i first create a cohesive layer with a certain thickness.

I then convert the part of this cohesive layer to a orphan mesh, then edit the mesh, such that a zero thickness layer is created.

However when i want to submit the job i get the following error message:

Plotting stress vs strain curve in abaqus

Submitted by shafquatcd on

Dear All,

I am modelling a bridge rubber bearing using hyperelastic material (Rubber) and steel plates in abaqus. i am using mooney-rivlin hyperelastic model for rubber

After running the analysis . i like to plot the stress vs strain graph for the rubber material only and then compare it with the mooney rivlin model .can anyone tell me how to do it ?

 I am very new

About constutive relation of elastic membranes

Submitted by souvenir on

Is there some theory to describe the constitutive relation of elastic membranes? There are lots of papers studying membranes mechanics of cells, but I just want to know the mechanics of ordinary membranes which are simplified from theories of plates and shells, can anyone tell me some papers or textbooks studying this?(I've found a brief description on Allan Bower's web page, but that's too brief...)

Attenuated short wavelength buckling and force propagation in a biopolymer-reinforced rod

In this paper, we investigate short wavelength buckling of a thin elastic rod embedded in an elastic gelatin biopolymer network. Using a combination of micro-mechanical testing, microscopic imaging, as well as theory, we show that the buckling penetration depth can be tuned by varying the mechanical properties of the rod and the rod–gel interface.
