I am co-organizing the mini-symposium entitled «Multiscale and multifunctional composites: design and identification»  in the 13th International Symposium on Multiscale, Multifunctional and Functionally Graded Materials (MM&FGM2014) with Dr. Gilles Lubineau at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

A book review by Prof. Jan Achenbach (Northwestern University) is published in the Journal of Applied Mechanics, April, 2014.  The book, The Theory of Materials Failure, was authored by Prof. Richard M. Christensen and published by Oxford University Press, 2013.

University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track faculty
position in the area of Solid Mechanics. 

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to
micro/nano-scale solid mechanics, mechanics of soft matter, mechanics of
advanced technologies, mechanics of materials for energy applications,
computational mechanics and multi-scale modeling, mechanics of friction and
adhesion, and transport-coupled mechanics.
