non linear visco elasticity

Hi

i am interested to study the morphology of polymeric membranes in non linear regime. I am in search of what actually a 'non linear behavior in a material represents'. Mathematically there are certain equations governing the non linear behavior. But my concern is how material behaves in non linear regime (under moderate to high stress). And what molecular and microstructural features contributes to the non linear behavior?. Can any one post me to under stand the micro sructural behavior of polymers in non linear regime. It would be useful help to me.

Professor Luigia Binda, one of the foremost authorities in masonry research, and in particular the restoration of historic buildings, steps down from her role as European Regional Editor of the journal. Professor Andrew Boyd, from McGill University, Canada and Professor Amir Mirmiran from Florida International University, USA who served as North American Regional Editors for the past four years, are also retiring.

Postdoctoral Associate Position Available at Northwestern University

Submitted by keten on

A postdoctoral associate position is available at the Computational Nanodynamics Group at Northwestern University. This research project focuses broadly on atomistic and multi-scale modeling and simulation of the mechanics and dynamics of organic, biological and bioinspired nanomaterials. The post-doctoral researcher will have the opportunity to investigate diverse issues related to mechanics and transport phenomena in emerging nanostructured materials.
