The research group of Design and Simulation of Composites Structures at IMDEA Materials, led by Drs. Carlos González and Cláudio S. Lopes, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of multiscale computational mechanics of advanced composites. Candidates with strong background knowledge on computational damage mechanics, model development, and numerical simulation of advanced composite materials and structures are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in experimental mechanical testing of composites is highly valued.

Two postdoctoral fellow positions at Northeastern University is available immediately, focused on the analysis of the nonlinear behavior of structures and soft matter using computational mechanics and the development and analysis of active cellular structures, and biomimetic materials. IMATI-CNR and the Mathematics Department of the University of Pavia offer a postdoc position on isogeometric analysis. This research project focuses on the design and implementation of innovative isogeometric methods for solid/fluid mechanics.  In particular the target applications are related to

- fluids in geological formations

Postdoctoral Fellow

A new post-doc position (1 year renewable up to 3 years, till the end of the ERC Starting Grant Project CA2PVM, http://musam.imtlucca.it/CA2PVM.html ) is open in the Research Unit MUSAM - Multi-scale Analysis of Materials ( http://musam.imtlucca.it ) directed by Prof.

In the context of a European project involving partners in France, Germany and Belgium, we are seeking a motivated post-doc to implement a saddle-point search method in a discrete dislocation dynamics code to study thermally-activated dislocation processes, such as cross-slip, in complex microstructures. The start date is October 2014 and the post-doc will be based in Lyon (Institut Lumière Matière) but with strong interactions with the Laboratoire d'Etude des Microstructures, CNRS/ONERA near Paris.

Postdoc or Ph.D. position for development of offshore plant substructures at Korea University, Korea

Structural Engineering & Mechanics Laboratory at the School of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering, Korea University, Korea, has open positions for a Ph.D. student (four years) and a post-doctoral researcher (three years) to pursue research on development of offshore plant substructures funded by Korean government. The position is to commence in August or September 1, 2014.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for a full-time postdoctoral researcher position in the area of Computational Mechanics at the Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology (GIFT), Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Korea. Candidates with a strong background in continuum/dislocation-based plasticity theory, computational mechanics of sheet metals, FE modelling of sheet metal forming processes… are highly encouraged to apply.
